FOOD FOR LOVE
Preparing, cooking and presenting a delicious meal for your chosen Valentine – what a wonderful way to express your love!
Food has played an important role as an aphrodisiac for thousands of years. Although food was often simply to ensure both partners had enough food to keep starvation away, there are traditionally foods that are said to increase either libido or fertility.
Among the foods that are commonly associated with love are oysters, chocolate, figs, berries (raspberries/strawberries) and of course wine or champagne.
Consider a simple meal outdoors (French romantics en plein air!) or a romantic dinner by candlelight. Following are some suggestions for your Valentine’s Day meal that are special, but simple to prepare.
LUNCH
Oysters with Fresh Wakame Dressing
Ronnie's BBQ 'Steamed' Crayfish
Chocolate Cream (Prepare this the day before)
DINNER
Rocket & Fig Salad with Goat's Cheese
Strawberries With Brown Sugar Yoghurt
No time to cook? What about an exquisite chocolate mud heart from Yael's Cakes of Distinction?
