method1 Preheat oven to 195°. Brush the bottom of a shallow 20cm dish with 50 grams of butter and cover with 75 grams sugar2 Peel, core and cut apples into quarters, sprinkle with cinnamon and place in tight circles, round-side down in dish. 3 Melt remaining butter and add remaining sugar - stir to combine. Pour evenly over apples. 4 Place on stove top over medium heat to caramelize but take care that this doesn't burn. Remove and cool 5 Place pastry over apples and fold in the sides to cover the apples. Bake at 195° for 20 - 30 minutes, or until pastry is golden. 6 Allow to cool slighty, then turn upside down on a plate and serve warm, with double cream on the side. |
